Stranger in a Strange Land

The title of this post was actually from a vintage song by Leon Russell...check it out sometime soon!  Anyway!!, I digress!...

Haven't we all felt like a "Stranger in a Strange Land" at times?....maybe you overslept on your first day of high school and got there 20 minutes late, with your hair all askew (oh wait...that was me!)  or you did or said something really silly where there was deathly silence, or even worse, muttered snickering, or...or...or...
These things we experienced were just that; they were "things"...they happened, they passed, and we went on.  Can you imagine living that way 24/7?  Isn't that just what our kids do, and, because of all we struggle with, alongside out kids...we too are in that situation more than we ever thought we might be?

Here's a cool thing to grab onto.  Jesus was indeed that way....24/7.  You know...God; with skin on.  Crazy, yes?  I'd like you to check out Brant Hanson's blog.  Brant is a dj for Air1, and he has Asperger Syndrome.  He has a blog post on 9/14 where he talks all about parts of his Asperger's, and better yet, how that relates to his fit with being a believer in Jesus.  He is awesome, and my son LOVES to listen to Brant.  Hmmm...perhaps they do speak the same language...Strangers in a strange land.

If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own.  As it is, you do not belong to the world,  but I have chosen you out of the world.                        John 15:19
